Energy Improvement Corporation Announces 1st NY State PACE Financing

The Energy Improvement Corporation held a press event Monday, April 13th at the site of of 5 Spoke Creamery Farm's solar installation to announce the completion of the first commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) financing in New York State, a milestone for its Energize NY Finance program and its partners Orange County, the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (“NYSERDA”), First Niagara Bank, N.A. and Bank of America Merrill Lynch. With the help of the Energize NY Finance program, 5 Spoke Creamery was able to install a 53kw solar system on the property that will provide 100% of the farm’s electricity needs. It was a beautiful day to celebrate the strong, and vibrant agriculture industry in Orange County, and the first of Energize NY's PACE financings. 

The event was attended by local newspapers, Hudson Valley cable TV, 2 Hudson Valley magazines and EEReports.com. Links to coverage can be found on our media page. Speakers included Alan Glustoff, owner of 5 Spoke Creamery; Steve Neuhaus, Orange County Executive; Greg Hale, Senior Advisor to the Chairman of Energy & Finance, Governor Cuomo’s Office; Mark Thielking, Executive Director of Energy Improvement Corporation and Jeff Pitkin, Treasurer NYSERDA. Over 60 people attended the event, including state and local officials, business leaders, the solar contractor and neighboring farmers interested in solar. 5 Spoke Creamery held a cheese tasting paired with local spirits from Orange County Distillery and local bread from Janet's Quality Baked Goods. The installer of the solar system, Howard Aschoff, led tours of the system.
