Local governments in the New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut Tri-State area have an opportunity to switch to clean energy, stimulate their local economies, and save residents and small businesses money on their energy bills. New York is becoming one of the most active community solar markets in the country with about 800 MW currently in the pipeline and plans to stimulate another 1000 MW. In New Jersey and Connecticut, community solar pilot programs have recently launched. In addition, there is tremendous potential for community choice aggregation (CCA) and government energy aggregation (GEA) to add fuel to the fire as these relatively new procurement models also support the movement towards local renewable energy.
Infocast's inaugural event, Tri-State Community Energy, is a premier conference where local governments and CCA administrators will have the opportunity to network with peers who have successfully procured cheaper, clean local energy. In an intimate setting, regulators will take a deep dive into new programs, utilities will get ahead of the inevitable rush of community solar projects and other distributed energy resources (DERs), and renewable developers and vendors will have the opportunity to grow their businesses in one of the most active markets in the country. Join Energize NY's Co-Executive Director Mark Thielking on Thursday, April 4th at 11am for the "Financing Community Solar - Tax Equity and Lender Perspectives" panel discussion.
