Solarize Westchester & Land Use Planning for Solar Energy

Two Solar Events for Local Governments on September 4th

Join the EIC for the launch of Solarize Westchester -- a groundbreaking program designed to make Westchester County the leader in New York State solar installations. This program will put Westchester County and your municipality on the solar map!

MORNING SESSION: Be the first to learn how your municipality can be selected as one of the four initial Solarize Westchester market aggregation communities. This competitive program, which reduces solar costs for your residents and business owners, will be heavily promoted throughout Westchester County and beyond. The municipal selection criteria and process will be shared at this launch event which is designed for elected officials, key municipal staff and municipal environmental committee members in Westchester.

The Solarize Westchester program will end with a press event for elected officials.  Solarize Westchester is an initiative of the Energy Improvement Corporation and partners Abundant Efficiency, Croton Energy Group, Pace Land Use Law Center, SmartPower and Sustainable Westchester.

AFTERNOON SESSION: In a separate afternoon session, attendees will be introduced to the NY-Sun PV Trainers Network, a best solar practices workshop led by the Pace Land Use Law Center.  The afternoon workshop will be especially helpful for planning directors, elected officials, and planning and zoning board members from throughout the Mid-Hudson region.

Information and registration for both sessions is available here
