Energize NY Executive Director, Mark Thielking and Bracken Hendricks of the Washington DC PACE program and Urban Ingenuity, led a discussion of the power of PACE financing for not-for-profits and affordable housing agencies at the PACE Nation conference held in Denver, CO in early March. Thielking presented Energize NY project profiles and reviewed case studies which demonstrate that PACE is a powerful tool for these groups whose ability to source needed capital and resources to improve their aging buildings is often limited.
Not-for-profit organizations and affordable housing agencies form the fabric of each community. PACE financing provides real solutions for these and other tax exempt organizations seeking to improve the quality of their buildings and reduce their energy bills. It also presents an opportunity to the clean energy industry to expand the reach of their services while improving this important community-based building stock.
